A small-group Southwest Ireland journey for lovers of wild Atlantic days, castle evenings, ancient places, and one charming village to call home

Our Ireland week will be based in the impossibly charming village of Adare, a place that feels tailor-made for the Hub & Spoke style of travel. With its thatched cottages, flower-filled lanes, handsome stone buildings, and easy village strolling, Adare gives us that rare combination we love most: a beautiful place to unpack, settle in, and begin to feel — just a little — like we belong there.

We will stay right in Adare, at a beloved historic hotel that reflects the warmth and character of the village itself. It is gracious, comfortable, full of old-world Irish hospitality, and perfectly placed for slipping out to stroll, shop, peek at cottages, or simply enjoy the pleasure of being based somewhere beautiful. It gives us the ease we want without taking attention away from the real star of the week: Ireland unfolding all around us.

From our Adare hub, we will dip in and out of the Wild Atlantic Way, letting Ireland’s western edge reveal itself in pieces rather than trying to rush the whole thing at once. Some days will bring sea wind and sweeping coastal drama. Others will lead us through green fields, storybook villages, ancient sites, music-filled streets, and landscapes that feel lifted from myth. As always, we will mix the iconic with the intimate — the places you have dreamed of seeing, plus the smaller experiential pieces that make a trip feel personal, layered, and alive.

We will stand at the edge of the Atlantic at the Cliffs of Moher, where the land drops dramatically into the sea and the wind, waves, and sky do all the talking. Nearby, we will move through the strange and beautiful limestone world of the Burren, one of Ireland’s most distinctive landscapes — wild, ancient, and unexpectedly delicate, with stone walls, rare wildflowers, and a quiet magic all its own.

Tucked into that otherworldly landscape, we will visit Poulnabrone Dolmen, a striking prehistoric portal tomb that offers a powerful glimpse into ancient Ireland. It is simple, stark, and unforgettable — the kind of place that does not need much explanation once you are standing in front of it.

There will be a touch of grandeur, too, when we visit Adare Manor for afternoon tea. This magnificent estate will host the Ryder Cup in 2027, but our visit will be less about golf and more about savoring the elegance, atmosphere, and country-house beauty of one of Ireland’s most celebrated properties. Think polished service, sweeping grounds, and the pleasure of a very gracious Irish afternoon.

Our journeys will also bring us toward Killarney and portions of the legendary Ring of Kerry, where lakes, mountains, green valleys, and coastal views come together in one glorious Irish panorama. In true Hub & Spoke fashion, we will not try to conquer every mile just to say we did it. We will choose the pieces that give us beauty, variety, and breathing room — the scenic moments that make you reach for your camera and then forget to take the photo because you are too busy taking it all in.

We will make our way to Dingle, one of Ireland’s most beloved coastal towns and a jewel of the Wild Atlantic Way. Colorful streets, sea air, artisan shops, music drifting from pub doors, and peninsula views all blend into something wonderfully alive. Dingle has that rare quality of feeling both far away and completely welcoming — the kind of place where you want to wander slowly, linger longer, and let the day unfold.

We will also enjoy a wonderfully atmospheric evening at Bunratty Castle, where medieval Ireland comes to life over dinner, music, and a little castle drama. It is less “museum stop” and more immersive night out — the kind of experience that lets us lean into the pageantry, storytelling, and good fun of Ireland’s past.

And we will visit the Rock of Cashel, rising from the Tipperary countryside with all the drama of legend. Once tied to kings and saints, this unforgettable site gives the week a powerful sense of story: ancient stones, sweeping views, and the feeling that every landscape in Ireland has a tale tucked inside it.

Woven through the week will be those Hub & Spoke-style moments we love most: a gracious tea, a beautifully chosen lunch, a local experience, time to wander, a little music, a little magic, and space to enjoy Ireland rather than simply pass through it. This is not a checklist tour. It is a week of green fields and grand views, wild coastlines and warm welcomes, ancient places and lively villages — all with one charming village, Adare, at the heart of it.
